What do you imagine when you hear the word "Neanderthal"? "I don't know", "barbaric people", and "Homo sapiens DNA contains about 2% of Neanderthal DNA". Although there might be many opinions, most people reading this now have probably never met a Neanderthal in person. It is said that Neanderthals were the humans before us Homo sapiens. Recent research has revealed their cultural way of life. Actually, the "barbaric" looking arrowhead bottle of NEANDERTAL smells very sophisticated. NEANDERTAL, which was created in the imagination of these people we have never met, has much to teach us. What is Neanderthal? What is Homo sapiens? And what does it mean to transcend time and space? NEANDERTAL, on the other hand, brings a more direct experience to our bodies by focusing on our sense of smell. What emerges from that experience is "a way to explore the analogies between the lingering echoes of our past and that of olfactory resonance" (NEANDERTAL, 2017). "The results are contemporary, highly original, and experimental fragrance structures, free from conventional and traditional perfumery standards." (NEANDERTAL, 2017). We imagine the Neanderthal through the scent of NEANDERTAL, and in our imagination, we reach a world that exists between Homo sapiens and the Neanderthal. This melting of the past and present signifies the transformation of time and space in the art perfumery of NEANDERTAL. NEANDERTAL We humans then move to a different time-space. The world implied by the "Space Age" is not only the current space exploration. It will be closely related to quantum physics in science, to science fiction that imagines the future, or to "Novacene" (Lovelock, 2019). The concept of "self" need not necessarily be contained only within one individual human body. Needles to say, NEANDERTAL is not Neanderthal itself. Or perhaps it is a hybrid between Neanderthal and Homo sapiens. Perhaps we should become NEANDERTAL. A possibility that the centerless center of NEANDERTAL, a being that transcends time and space, is most likely no longer the human race must be high. NEANDERTAL will be etched in human history as a scent that will bring about the transformation to　NEANDERTAL.
